ESPN’s most recent off-season estimates indicate that the Denver Broncos will make a significant move to address the quarterback position by selecting Michigan’s JJ McCarthy with the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
“Even though Russell Wilson is guaranteed $39 million in 2024, it makes sense for Denver to cut him because if not, they will fully guarantee his $37 million salary in 2025.

 

” With the No. 12 pick, Denver is in the middle of a group of clubs, including the Vikings (No. 11) and the Raiders (No. 13), who may also be looking for a rookie quarterback. I believe Denver would choose McCarthy (Michigan), albeit it is too early to predict who will go where in the middle of the first round.”
