JUST IN: What Bruce Pearl had to say before Auburn’s game against Tennessee

Tomorrow, the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers and the No. 11 Auburn Tigers will play on the road.

What was Bruce Pearl, the head coach of Auburn, saying before the game?

“Our defence has been good, it’ll have to be at its very best,” Pearl stated. “It’d be great if we could keep making shots which is what it takes at the end of the year to get hot and win.”

Pearl discussed how crucial it was to keep Tennessee guard Dalton Knecht in check.

“He’s going to get his, you just don’t want him to go off,” Pearl said. At both ends of the floor, he is capable of doing it everything. He is one of the biggest guards our guards will face and one of the best forwards our forwards will face, so he poses a serious matchup challenge.”

Pearl provided some encouraging news on forward Jaylin Williams, who sustained an injury during the Kentucky game.

Pearl said, “Jaylin will go.” “Even though he wasn’t available for Georgia, he might play tomorrow. We’ll see his performance today. He was more mobile yesterday than we had anticipated.”

Pearl discussed guard Aden Holloway’s performance against Georgia and the things he hopes to learn from him going forward.

Pearl remarked, “I thought he showed how tough he is.” “I thought he was going to make every shot he took against Georgia.” He is an excellent player who hasn’t shied away from the opportunity and shouldn’t do so.

The cutoff time is 6 p.m. CT. The Auburn Sports Network broadcast is available for streaming anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app, while the ESPN2 broadcast is available for viewing.
