BREAKING NEWS: BEARS AND NFL WORLD REACTS TO LATEST UPDATE ON RYAN POLES FOOLING EVERYBODY ON REAL QB PLANS

Insiders everywhere appear to believe they know how everything will play out for the Chicago Bears. GM Ryan Poles plans to deal Justin Fields. In April, he will draft his preferred quarterback as the first overall pick. Caleb Williams of USC will most likely be the quarterback. Ian Rapoport said it. Adam Schefter said it. Locals such as Adam Jahns and Brad Biggs have mentioned it. However, other people cannot shake the suspicion that Poles is carefully creating this national story to conceal his true aims.

One of them is named Louis Riddick. The former personnel director for Washington and Philadelphia discussed the Bears’ issue on ESPN’s Get Up program. One thing he finds perplexing about the scenario is that if they honestly believe Fields was the root cause of the offensive issues, why would they fire the entire coaching staff on that side of the ball? If Fields were the issue, it would make more sense to keep Luke Getsy and his assistants in place to ensure system continuity as they transition to a new quarterback.

Caleb Williams won't throw at 2024 NFL combine. Here's why.

Instead, they sacked all but two assistants, making room for new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron and his own group of players. Riddick believes Poles’ genuine intentions differ from the widely held idea that he will take a quarterback at number one.

Ryan Poles must realize that others may disagree.
When an offence struggles, one of two persons takes the blame: the quarterback or the offensive coordinator. Here is the thing. Many people refuse to entertain the possibility that both could have been a problem for the Bears. There’s a high chance Fields wasn’t good enough at quarterback, and Getsy wasn’t good enough at getting the most out of his teammates. The Bears encountered the same issue a couple years ago with Mitch Trubisky and Matt Nagy. Everyone was prepared to blame Trubisky for all of the problems. After he left, they discovered that Nagy was also a problem.

Perhaps Ryan Poles does not want to fall into the same trap. He’d rather clear the slate. Hire a new offensive staff lead by a coordinator with a track record of dealing with quarterbacks. Then select the best quarterback in the draft who you believe has potential for stardom. This isn’t a horrible plan. Still, Riddick has been in the league for a long time. Perhaps what he says has merit. Perhaps the offensive staff revamp was a dead giveaway that the Bears intend to keep Fields but are looking to maximize their leverage in a #1 selection trade.
