Relatively good news: Ryan Ramczyk underwent minor surgery on his knee. By Saints training camp, he ought to be ready.
INDIA — Dennis Allen visited with a few of the Saints’ media representatives on Wednesday afternoon, giving them numerous important team updates. Ryan Ramczyk emerged as one of the most significant. Allen disclosed that he underwent minor surgery to address some issues, and that they will continue to treat his knee. He’s coming along nicely, and training camp should not be too far off.
For Ramczyk, this is kind of a blessing because it wasn’t a major procedure that would have required extensive rehabilitation. Both Ramczyk and New Orleans were optimistic about his prospects heading into the offseason. Hopefully, this serves to further support that. His familiarity with the team will probably mean that the management will list him as out of commission on Wednesday’s injury report and assign him to rest.
Under Klint Kubiak, the Saints are implementing a new offensive philosophy that should include a lot of wide zone ideas and play action elements that weren’t a mainstay the previous season. Undoubtedly, Ramczyk will play a significant role in the jigsaw, and New Orleans feels that players like Landon Young will be supporting him.
