SAD NEWS: Saints Top Offensive Tackle Had Major Knee Surgery As Confirmed By Head Coach Dennis Allen

Dennis Allen met with various members of the Saints’ media on Wednesday afternoon, sharing some important information about the team. Ryan Ramczyk was one of the more notable examples. Allen said that he had minor surgery to clear things up, and that his knee will continue to be managed. He is making steady progress and is anticipated to be ready for training camp.

Saints' Ryan Ramczyk Recovers from Surgery, Team Embraces New Offensive Era under Kubiak

This is pretty excellent news for Ramczyk, as it was not a major procedure that would necessitate extensive rehabilitation. Going into the summer, New Orleans felt optimistic about Ramczyk’s future, as did Ramczyk himself. This should help reinforce that. Management will most likely list him as a familiar player on Wednesday’s injury report with a rest indication.

Under Klint Kubiak, the Saints will adopt a new offensive strategy that will involve many wide zone concepts as well as play action components that were not there previous season. Ramczyk will likely play an important role, and New Orleans believes that good players like Landon Young will support him.
