BREAKING NEWS: Rams with a Tempting Blockbuster Trade Propoasl for Chiefs Star

The Los Angeles Rams’ defence is not designed to compete for a Super Bowl. That is neither an indictment on general manager Les Snead nor a referendum on the coaching staff’s effectiveness. However, Los Angeles faces significant challenges. Simply put, teams with subpar secondaries and no top pass rush will struggle to compete in today’s passing league. The Rams will use money and NFL Draft picks to solve the problem, but wouald they consider trading?

The cap has repercussions, and sometimes that means trading away outstanding players to keep the remainder of a team together. The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs may have to follow that road if they want to win back-to-back championships. Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed will almost definitely be franchised, although a trade is an option if an extension cannot be reached.

Rams general manager Les Snead agrees to contract extension - Los Angeles Times

According to Bleacher Report, Los Angeles is one of the clubs that should reach out to Kansas City. “If Sneed is available for a Day 2 selection, though, Senad and the Rams would be foolish not to consider him,” Knox said in a blog post. “LA’s playoff window is open once again thanks to ascending stars like Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, and Kobie Turner. …”Improving a pass defence that ranked 20th in yards allowed last season would help the Rams make the most of their current opportunity. And Sneed is still young enough to be a building block long after players like Donald, Stafford, and Kupp are gone.

Sneed has evolved as one of the league’s top corners and is on his way to a lucrative contract extension, which Los Angeles may potentially offer. He has the performance to back it up. Sneed was ranked as Pro Football Focus’ 26th-best cornerback (out of 80 qualifiers), much ahead of the Rams’ top qualifier previous season, Ahkello Witherspoon (47th). Los Angeles does not have a playmaker like him in their secondary. In addition to his two interceptions, just seven cornerbacks recorded more pass breakups. In coverage, he had the fifth-lowest pass rating against. It’s worth noting that he leads his positional peers in penalties (17), which could frighten the Rams away. However, there’s little doubt about his ability to make plays.

Snead hasn’t committed to not dealing his first-round pick, and there’s a valid argument that he shouldn’t trade it at all. However, as picks become less valued on the second day of the draft, it’s difficult not to wish the Chiefs embrace Sneed’s proposition.
