One of Miami’s top prospects has finished his first day at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, and he’s looking forward to hearing his name in April.
Leonard Taylor III, a Miami defensive lineman, underwent his first set of workouts and tests at the NFL Combine today, allowing him to demonstrate to evaluators his athletic abilities.
Unfortunately for Taylor, his performance was not impressive, as he did not test well today, with the bench press coming up tomorrow. NFL Next Gen Stats placed him as the 15th best defensive tackle in terms of athleticism score after today’s drills. His statistics were as follows.
40-yard dash: 5.12 seconds.
10-yard split: 1.76 seconds.
Vertical Leap: 30″.
Broad Jump: 9’1″.
3-Cone Drill time: 7.81 seconds.
Taylor’s overall prospects remain promising. He was a five-star prospect coming out of high school and showed sparks throughout his time at Miami.
His greatest season came as a sophomore in 2022, when he recorded 24 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and an interception.
Stay tuned to AllHurricanes for the remainder of the week, as Taylor competes in the bench press drill and other Hurricanes participate in the NFL Draft Combine.
