Last week’s NFL combine chatter about Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons appeared to have more than legs. It could soon have wheels similar to those used on moving lorries.
Kirk Cousins gained popularity for the Falcons past week.
When the combine began, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields was linked to the Falcons. By the end of the week, Cousins was identified as the most likely signal caller in Atlanta for the 2024 season.
Cousins is considering relocating his family to Atlanta.
According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, Cousins is considering moving his family to Atlanta, where he could sign with the Falcons:
“We can’t get into specifics right now. But there are very convincing reports that Cousins is seriously considering moving his family to Atlanta. This would definitely imply that he would sign with the Falcons.
The Falcons have long been the primary choice over the Vikings for Cousins, who becomes an unrestricted free agent next Wednesday. And with good reason. His wife, Julie, grew up in nearby Alpharetta, Georgia. “Her parents still live there.”
The Atlanta Falcons might have their star quarterback shortly.
Cousins appears to be the clear choice for the Falcons job. The Vikings still have a few days to try to pay Cousins enough to stay in Minnesota. Cousins wants a large salary and a chance to win the Super Bowl.
Given how dominant the NFC North is in comparison to the NFC South, his best hope might be to beat a division that includes Bryce Young, Baker Mayfield (perhaps), and Derek Carr at quarterback.
