BREAKING NEWS: Texans are Reportedly in Advance Negotiation to Sign Miami Dolphin Top Defensive Tackle in Free Agency

Christian Wilkins has been a key member of the Miami Dolphins defence since entering the league as the 13th choice in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has been one of the league’s most renowned defensive linemen, with 355 tackles and 20.5 sacks in 81 career games. Despite his constant output over five seasons, Wilkins will be on the move for the first time in his career.

Top DT Christian Wilkins will hit free agency
Wilkins, a former first-round choice, is now an unrestricted free agent after the Dolphins elected not to place the franchise tag on him. And, given coach DeMeco Ryan’s goal to improve the defensive line, the Houston Texans could be a viable option for Wilkins. According to ESPN, the Texans are a possible destination for Wilkins. “How can we get the right guys to complement each other, and play well off one another because that’s how I see D-Lines play,” Mr. Ryans said. “It isn’t about just one individual. It’s a group of eight players who can come in and continue to put pressure on the opposing squad.”

Wilkins is valued at $80.9 million over a four-year period. With roughly $70 million in salary cap room, the Texans would be able to pay Wilkins. More importantly, he has the potential to be one of Houston’s most vital players by 2024.
