JUST IN: Multiple NFL Analyst and Reporter Reports Saints Are Winning Draft Race To Sign NFL Most Wanted quarterback

The New Orleans Saints presently have the 14th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. That is a place where New Orleans may comfortably sit while addressing one of its most pressing needs. Many draft observers believe the Saints will select an offensive tackle. With such a deep tackle draft class, the Saints may potentially snag a top pick at 14.

There is also an argument that New Orleans should choose a premier edge rusher or receiver. Whatever way the Saints go, it is evident that they can remain at 14 and sign an exceptional prospect. However, there are some who believe New Orleans is planning to trade up.

Will the Saints target a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft?
Moton presented a solid argument for New Orleans to trade up, stating that Derek Carr is definitely not the long-term option and that the Saints wouldn’t have to go far to crack the top ten. A trade into the bottom part of the top ten may put New Orleans in position to select the third or fourth quarterback in the class.

According to most rankings, that would be Jayden Daniels or JJ McCarthy, with Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix also in contention. All intriguing prospects for the Saints to investigate. However, if New Orleans is going to trade away assets to choose a quarterback with a top-10 choice, it must be someone the team is confident in.

The team’s age and contracts make it evident that New Orleans is attempting to win right now. With that said, it’s difficult to picture the Saints passing up the opportunity to add a guy who can instantly contribute to winning. While New Orleans desperately needs a future quarterback, the team is unlikely to find one in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
