JUST IN: Former NBA Player Makes Controversial Luka Doncic Statement

Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks’ standout player, is having another amazing season. Doncic has produced MVP-caliber numbers and has been mentioned in that conversation at times, but his team’s overall record will most certainly prevent him from being a finalist for the award.

Dallas’ difficulties this season, and in general over the prior few seasons, have spurred debate over Doncic’s play style. The same debates took place when James Harden was putting up historic statistics for the Houston Rockets, as both Harden and Doncic spend a lot of time with the ball in their hands.

Harden’s role has changed significantly since leaving Houston, but Doncic remains the focal focus of everything the Mavericks do offensively. Chandler Parsons, a former NBA player, recently appeared on FanDuel’s Run it Back show and expressed a contentious opinion about Doncic’s style.

“I think [Luka Doncic] is an unbelievable talent,” Parsons stated. “He’s like a guard version of [Nikola] Jokic, and he can do whatever… But as a teammate, it’s a little exhausting to see the same thing over and over again.”

Parsons spent two seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, but that was before Doncic entered the NBA. Parsons then joined the Memphis Grizzlies for three seasons. While Parsons’ opinion is widely shared, it is also contentious, particularly his remark concerning Doncic’s teammates’ possible displeasure.
