DEAL COMPLETED: Cleveland Brown Have Completed a Blockbuster Trade That Land Denver Broncos Best Wide receiver That Sees Them Give up on Former First-Round Pick

The Denver Broncos have traded great receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns, marking yet another significant move for the franchise.

The Broncos traded Jeudy for fifth and sixth-round draft picks, demonstrating their willingness to move on from their starting wide receiver. Jeudy, a former first-round choice from Alabama, was regarded as a game changer.

The 17th overall choice in the 2020 draft was selected ahead of CeeDee Lamb, who is currently an All-Pro wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. However, as they try to rebuild their squad, the Broncos have let him go in exchange for only day three selection picks.

The Broncos terminated Russell Wilson just two years into his five-year, $242 million (£188.2 million) contract. They had acquired the quarterback from the Seattle Seahawks in a massive transaction.
It appears that the Broncos are attempting to rebuild their team following another difficult season. Head coach Sean Payton hopes to get more draft picks by releasing Jeudy. The Browns will add Jeudy to their excellent receiving corps, which features Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, Cedric Tillman, David Bell, and David Njoku.

Jeudy, 24, is in the final year of his rookie contract. The Browns are expected to let him finish out his contract before deciding whether to extend it. He had a good, but not remarkable, season in 2023.
Jeudy has never accumulated more than 1,000 yards in a single season, and he has only 11 touchdowns in four years in the league. However, he remains one of the best route runners in the NFL and might benefit from being part of a new offensive system led by skilled playcaller Kevin Stefanski.

Even while Denver has freed up some wage cap space by releasing Jeudy and Wilson, the Broncos only have $30 million (£23.3 million) left to sign players, rather than the $70-80 million (£54.4-£62.2 million) they may have had in different circumstances. That’s because letting Wilson leave will result in a large $35 million (£27.2 million) dead cap charge this season, followed by another $50 million (£38.9 million) in 2025, which they can’t spend and must pay the quarterback.

The Denver Broncos will undoubtedly search for a quarterback in the NFL Draft, with Michigan’s National Championship winner JJ McCarthy widely expected to be selected in the first round. On April 25, the Broncos will most likely be unable to select Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels, but they may be able to select McCarthy, Michael Penix Jr, or Bo Nix.
