Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart issued an injury report for his team ahead of their first spring practice, including information on TE Pearce Spurlin. The Georgia Bulldogs will be working hard this week as they begin spring practice for the 2024 season. With so much excitement surrounding this year’s team, the Dawgs have a lot of work to do and even more questions to answer. One of the most important questions every team must answer each season is, “What is the current injury report?” This morning, head coach Kirby Smart delivered an update on Pearce Spurlin, the sophomore tight end. Pearce Spurlin will have to obtain a medical designation. He has a medical cardiac issue and plans to retire from football. Smart stated that the team was aware and monitoring the situation, but he is “too much at risk.”
Dawgs Daily interviewed Pearce Spurlin just before he enrolled at Georgia. He discussed the journey following a week of competition at the Adidas All-American Game in San Antonio. Q: Talk about your journey to become a Bulldog. “You created the viral video that blew me away with recruitment. After then, things went downhill. I’d say four or five months later, I accepted the Georgia offer, and I committed about a month and a half to two months later, and then we committed, and I must have weighed about 175 pounds when I went to work.
And now I am 245. So it has been a lot of hard work. And many people helped me get here.” Georgia Bulldogs 2024 Football Schedule: August 31 – vs. Clemson (Atlanta, Georgia) September 7 – vs Tennessee Tech. Sept. 14 – at Kentucky September 21 – Bye.
