The rookie appeared in 16 games and started 15 of them, finishing with 140 tackles, nine tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, and two sacks. Wagner, who headlined one of the strongest draft classes in recent memory, helped this team reach the NFC Divisional Round as a rookie.

The following season, Wagner helped his squad achieve immortality.
