BREAKING NEWS: NFL and Bills Insiders Reveal Buffalo Bills Holding Private Talks Speedy WR Target in Idea Replacement of Stefon Diggs’

Although free agency is in full gear, the Buffalo Bills remain focused on the 2024 NFL Draft.

Buffalo will use its 11 draft picks to address a variety of problems on both sides of the ball. One of those needs is for a wide receiver. Despite acquiring Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins during the first wave of free agency, the Bills are likely looking for a real No. 2 receiver who might eventually replace Stefon Diggs as the team’s top receiver.
Plenty of receivers are likely to fall off the board before Buffalo’s selection clock starts, but Oregon Ducks wide receiver Troy Franklin is projected to be available. Franklin, noted for his blazing speed and ability to make big plays, is coming off a season in which he grabbed 81 catches for 1,383 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Following an excellent season, Buffalo is looking to see what Franklin can do. According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the Bills will conduct a private workout with Franklin.

Here’s what Pauline wrote about Franklin.

There were numerous storylines from Oregon’s pro day, which aired earlier this week, and receiver Troy Franklin was one of the better ones. As I mentioned on Twitter, Franklin felt unwell during the Combine and weighed eight pounds more (176 versus 183) on pro day. He then demonstrated great catching ability in position exercises, impressing many scouts.
The Indianapolis Colts, the New York Jets, and the New England Patriots all met with Franklin the day before the workout. The receiver now has four official 30-day visits and a private workout scheduled with the Buffalo Bills. Franklin is knocking on the door of Round One.

Buffalo has expressed previous interest in Franklin. At the combine, the Bills conducted a formal interview with the receiver. For Franklin, it was an opportunity to catch up with Joe Brady. During Franklin’s tenure at LSU, Buffalo’s offensive coordinator attempted to recruit him there.

Franklin would not be hurried onto the field in Buffalo, but his ability to gain yards after the catch and stretch the field would serve him well as a rookie.
