Former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is one of the top quarterbacks in next month’s draft class, and he might be taken by the Las Vegas Raiders. Daniels already has a strong connection with the Raiders. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner attended Arizona State for three seasons before transferring to LSU.
He was recruited by Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce, who previously worked as the Sun Devils’ recruiting coordinator. “I mean, I thought he’d win the Heisman — that was my recruiting pitch,” Pierce remarked during the NFL Combine on February 28. “… Man, I was so proud of him when I was recruiting Jayden, who weighed 150 pounds. “Everyone was like, ‘Where you getting this little skinny dude from San Bernardino?’.”But what I witnessed was a winner.
I saw a person who was extremely competitive, always looking to prove people wrong, and had been doubted his whole life due to his stature or certain physical or mental characteristics. And I believe all he has done is prove people incorrect.”And it was great to see him dominate at the top level of college football (SEC). It was impressive.
Pierce already has a player on his roster that he has known for quite some time. “It kind of reminds me of Jack Jones,” Pierce explained. “I have known Jayden since he was 14 years old, and Jack since he was 13.
The Raiders’ head coach believes Daniels’ top goal is to play in the NFL. The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25-27, 2024, in Detroit, Mich. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the 13th overall pick. Make sure you follow X (Twitter) @HondoCarpenter and IG @HondoSr to never miss any breaking news article.
