BREAKING NEWS: Bills Insider and Multiple NFL Reporter Offers Major Update on Stefon Diggs’ Future With Buffalo Bills Amid Trade Proposal Controversial Social Media Tweet

Stefon Diggs, a Buffalo Bills wide receiver, is no stranger to making headlines for his behaviour on the sidelines and on social media. Following the NFL star’s latest post, discussions surrounding his future in Buffalo and desire to stay with the Bills resumed.

Diggs, who had his least productive season since 2019 with the Minnesota Vikings, did not leave Buffalo on the best of terms. He dropped a crucial ball in the playoff defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs and had only 349 receiving yards on 63 targets in the team’s final eight regular-season games. With the roster already undergoing changes due to salary-cap difficulties, his future with the team has been a topic of controversy.
Stefon Diggs contract: $27.854 million in 2024, $27.354 million in 2025, $28.446 million in 2026, and $22.549 million in 2027.

While Diggs is one of the highest-paid NFL players, there is a way out of his contract before it expires in 2028 without incurring a significant cap hit. If Buffalo names Diggs as a post-June 1 trade or release candidate in 2025, the team would save $18.5 million in cap space.

Importantly, selling or releasing Diggs after June 1 of this year would result in a substantially higher cap cost for the Bills in an offseason in which they have already lost a big amount of quality. However, the 30-year-old wide receiver generated a commotion on social media, fueling speculation that he wants out of Buffalo.
Diggs has already forced a trade once in his career and has previously hinted that he wants out. Following a year of turbulence with the All-Pro wideout, his recent tweet has fanned suspicion that he may be traded. Despite continued disagreement, many in the league feel Buffalo has already decided on Diggs’ position.
