The Washington Commanders have signed cornerback Michael Davis, the organization announced. The deal’s terms are not yet known.
Davis went undrafted in 2017, and in May he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. He was with the team from 2017 until 2023. According to Pro Football Talk, he was a starter for the Chargers and appeared in every game over the last two seasons.
In the previous season, the cornerback recorded 62 tackles, one interception, and ten passes defended. According to the Associated Press, Davis stated, “I felt that this was the greatest location for me to be, to come here and improve myself. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.”
He went on to say, “I knew I might be a perfect fit in his program. I know Dan Quinn prefers bigger corners—bigger, faster, and higher corners—and I am that.”
Davis takes up a role previously held by Kendall Fuller, who has signed a two-year contract worth $16.5 million with the Miami Dolphins.
