JUST IN- DONE DEAL: Rams Are Signing Veteran Defensive Tackle To 1-Year Deal to Replace Aaron Donald

A week ago, Aaron Donald announced his retirement from the NFL, leaving a massive gaping hole in the middle of the Los Angeles Rams defensive line.

For the first time since the 2013 season, the Rams will have to find out how to run a defense without Donald making life difficult for the opposing offensive line on every snap.

It will be impossible to replace the multiple-time Defensive Player of the Year anytime soon, but Los Angeles is doing everything they can to compensate for his departure, including reportedly re-signing veteran defensive lineman Larrell Murchison to a one-year contract, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team on Twitter on Friday.

Murchison has been with the Rams since they claimed him on waivers in December 2022 after being released by the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans originally welcomed him into the league by selecting him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State.

Murchison never really did much during his career at Tennessee, as he was only able to compile 13 tackles and two quarterback pressures in 26 appearances.

However, the 2023 season with the Rams was by far his best single-season performance since joining the NFL in 2020.

Murchison recorded 16 tackles and two quarterback pressures in 15 games (three starts) for Los Angeles last season.
