The Buffalo Bills strengthened their offensive line ahead of Josh Allen by signing veteran center Will Clapp on Friday afternoon.
Clapp, 27, played last season for the Los Angeles Chargers, when he allowed only one sack in 702 offensive snaps. As Pro Football Focus reminds out, Clapp only allowed 24 quarterback pressures in 2023.
Clapp will most likely contend for the Bills’ swing-offensive guard position while providing valuable depth behind sturdy center Connor McGovern.
Clapp, who was originally selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft, has played 65 games in his NFL career and joins the Bills after spending the previous two seasons with the Chargers.
The Challenge Josh Allen introduces Buffalo Bills offensive linemen.
Josh Allen is a top quarterback in the NFL, but the Buffalo Bills signal caller keeps his offensive lineman on their toes.
Even tight end Dalton Kincaid understands that while Josh Allen is on the field, even if it appears that a play has broken down, the down does not finish until the whistle.
During an appearance on FanDuel’s Up and Adams, Kincaid stated that Josh’s in-game expertise helped him figure out what he enjoyed doing. “It doesn’t matter where the hell you are.”
Allen passed for 4,306 yards last season, with 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
