What Luke Metz commitment means for Alabama

“Instinctive off-ball linebacker prospect that can sift through traffic and make stops in the hole,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivans wrote in his evaluation of Metz. “Spent junior season working inside and outside of the box while also getting some looks as an edge rusher. Plays with continuous vigor, showing a wide range while driving forward. Athletic enough to do the job in space and manage drop coverage duties. “Tends to strike ball carriers and uses impressive grip strength to bring them down.”
Metz, who weighs 220 pounds and is 6 feet 3, plays high school football at Mill Creek. He claims 33 Division I offers.
