If you’re an NFL fan seeking for drama that doesn’t involve Travis Kelce or Taylor Swift, go no further than the Buffalo Bills. For years, the Bills have seemed like they were on the verge of greatness, reaching at least the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs each of the last four years. Despite their success, the Bills have not been to the Super Bowl since 1994 and have never won the championship.
Losing is frustrating for any team, but coming close year after year may be much more difficult. After four seasons of disappointment, tensions may have reached a boiling point, and players such as Stephon Diggs and Josh Allen are among the team’s finest.
Diggs has been releasing social media messages indicating that he is ready to leave the team, and on Wednesday, Josh Allen hopped on the speculation bandwagon by not only stating that he hopes the team drafts some young receiving talent, but also naming his choices.
Josh Allen reveals his preferred Buffalo Bills draft picks.
Despite Stephon Diggs’ continued presence on the club and the addition of receivers Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins, Josh Allen did not hold back on the podcast “The QB Room”. He made the following comments:
“Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are all promising prospects…Then you go to the second-tier, if you will, of Brian Thomas, Adonai Mitchell, I believe Keon Coleman, Troy Franklin, Xavier Worthy, Xavier Legette.”
It is not uncommon for quarterbacks to express a desire to choose a specific position player; but, going so far as to name nine individuals across three tiers is unprecedented. Consider the drama of a player like Xavier Worthy being drafted by the Bills while knowing he is considered a third-tier receiver, or worse, a receiver who did not even make the list. Sure, I am sure they will get over it, but why cause the drama in the first place?
