Alabama football hosted 2025 defensive lineman Jarquez Carter last week, and he left with a positive impression of the Crimson Tide.
Carter attended Newberry High School in Florida and has a four-star ranking from various recruiting sources. He has around 35 college football offers, including those from Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, and others.
The Florida product’s visit allowed him to reconnect with Kalen DeBoer.
“I think he is a great coach,” Carter told Touchdown Alabama. “He is a coach who is driven to win. Everywhere he travels, the team grows more successful. He simply understands how to win, and he is an excellent coach to talk to. He has a lot of wisdom. He told me that the guys that stayed are aware that he gives them his all every day. They are returning their whole attention to him. This demonstrates that their team is headed in the right direction.
Carter also spent some time with Alabama defensive line coach Freddie Roach during his visit. Carter respects Roach’s coaching method.
“He brings a lot of energy,” Carter remarked. “He makes playing the game more enjoyable. He is not the type of coach that yells at a player without a reason. He truly enjoys the game. Before they begin drilling, he discusses the drill and its significance.”
Alabama will try to bring Carter back on campus in the future.
The four-star says that his first two steps and the way he uses his hands are his current strengths. He is one of the more dynamic defensive line prospects in the 2025 recruiting class.
