DONE DEAL: Miami Hurricanes Land Massive 4-Star Tight End In 2025 Class

For two decades, the Miami Hurricanes have been attempting to reclaim their position as college football’s dominant force. Recruitment is one of the program’s strengths. It is not difficult to persuade athletes to travel to Miami, Florida, to play football. Despite recent setbacks, it remains a historic program. Luka Gilbert, a four-star tight end, is another huge recruit for the program.

Miami Hurricanes Land TE Luka Gilbert
The Hurricanes defeated Michigan, Ohio State, and Kentucky in a tough recruiting war. According to On3, he was expected to attend the Buckeyes but decided against it. He is a top-300 recruit, and ESPN ranks him second among tight ends in the 2025 class. Gilbert explained his decision.

“I just think after a long thought process, and after my visits, I was thinking about all the numerous options and locations I might go. And it really stands out to me that every time I visit Miami, it seems like home. They treat me as if I were their own family, and it’s a true blessing to be a member of this program now.”

As with many prospects, it is all about the relationships that develop between coaches and players. Gilbert felt at home in Miami and decided he wanted to play there.

The Miami 2025 Recruiting Class
It is still early in the cycle, but the Miami Hurricanes now boast one of the top 15 classes in the country for 2025. Gilbert is the fifth four-star prospect to commit to the program. He joins a class that already boasts a four-star quarterback, offensive tackle, running back, and wideout. It may take some time, but Miami is developing a potentially dangerous offence.

For years, the Hurricanes have been the target of many jokes in the ACC. Can they continue to grow this program and reach the College Football Playoff?
