BREAKING NEWS: Caitlin Clark ‘Getting Brutally Screwed’ With Historic Nike Shoe Deal

Dave Portnoy finds Caitlin Clark’s historic shoe sale insufficiently historic.

The Barstool Sports founder stated that the Indiana Fever’s No. 1 choice is “getting screwed” by her eight-year, $28 million contract with Nike, which includes a trademark shoe.

“If people want to complain about Caitlin Clark getting screwed, do it here. “This 8-year, 28-million-dollar deal is STEALING,” Portnoy said on X Tuesday. “Her worth is $80 million per year for eight years, which is probably too low. I hope she gets an early out if they don’t pay when she blows through this arrangement.”

When an X user responded by wondering how many men would buy Clark’s shoes and labelling the agreement a “overpay,” Portnoy doubled down while criticizing Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.
“Men would definitely buy her sneakers. “All girls who play basketball will,” Portnoy stated. “Devin Booker received a five-year contract worth $50 million. Caitlin is 100 times the star and effect.”
While Clark may have made a mistake not having Portnoy negotiate her sneaker contract, the former Iowa star established a record with her Nike deal, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Nike outbid Adidas, Under Armour, and Puma for a contract worth at least $3 million every season, according to Clark’s agents.

According to the WSJ, Puma declined at that pricing point after previously negotiating a deal and sneaker with Liberty star Breanna Stewart.

Adidas offered $6 million over four years, which was half of the minimal aim, while Under Armour offered $16 million over four years, according to the article.
While that arrangement provides a higher annual average value, Clark picked the highest total with Nike.

Nike’s initial offer did not include a shoe, but the global heavyweight eventually increased its terms to include one, according to the WSJ.

Clark and the Fever will begin their season on the road against the Connecticut Sun on May 14.
