DISTRESS MOVE: Twins Head Coach Has Made An Urgent Call Up Of Triple-A St. Paul Experienced Star to Start Thursday’s Game Against the Chicago White Sox After Ronny Henriquez Optioned

The Minnesota Twins have called up Simeon Woods Richardson from Triple-A St. Paul to start Thursday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

The Twins confirmed the transaction Thursday morning and optioned Ronny Henriquez back to St. Paul.

This is Woods Richardson’s second call-up of the season; he was the 27th man for the club’s doubleheader at Detroit on April 13, and he provided a major lift with five innings of two-run work. He’ll now look to assist the Twins complete a four-game sweep of the White Sox.

Henriquez had one appearance for the Twins after being promoted on Monday, pitching two shutout innings of relief with two hits, one walk, and two strikeouts against the White Sox.
