The New Orleans Saints discovered a capable running back in their own backyard.
The Black and Gold have signed Louisiana Ragin Cajuns running back Jacob Kibodi as an undrafted free agent as part of their 16-player roster.
He also caught nine passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. The senior averaged 5.7 yards per carry during the 2023 season which saw the Cajuns finish 6-7 after dropping the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl to Jacksonville State.
During the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl, Kibodi rushed for 35 yards on 3 carriesKibodi, a Baton Rouge native and former Texas A&M player, played rarely during his first few years in Lafayette due to injuries and a low position on the depth chart.
However, in 2023, he had a breakout year, rushing for 729 yards and seven touchdowns as Michael Desormeaux’s primary run game option. Kibodi carried for over 100 yards three times, including 119 yards on the road at South Alabama.
He also has nine receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown. The senior averaged 5.7 yards per play.
