Vita Vea, a defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Bucs, was selected to the Second Team All-Pro and has already made one Pro Bowl appearance in his career. Vea was a key member of the team that won the most recent Super Bowl.
However, Vea’s position coach believes Tampa Bay needs more from the 29-year-old former first-round choice if the Buccaneers defence is to advance.

Vita Vea needs to do more for the Tampa Bay Bucs.
With 5.5 sacks, Vea recorded a career-high 43 total tackles last season, helping the Buccaneers reach the NFC Divisional playoffs.

Kacy Rodgers, the defensive line coach for the Buccaneers, is hoping that Vea can advance to become one of the best players at his position this season as the 2024 campaign approaches.
According to PewterReport.com, Rodgers stated, “Vita has to play better.” Vita is a very strong man who is difficult to stop when he uses his hands and the right technique, especially when you are discussing that and just looking at the plays he is leaving out. That is the matter at hand. He plays hard and fulfills all of our requests. You should have made that play, you think to yourself as you look back at some of the plays. You are aware that he shouldn’t be obstructing you. Since he performs all other tasks we ask him to perform, that’s sort of where we need him to go next.

Throughout his career, Vea has transformed into a run-stuffer who devours space, but he is also a formidable interior pass-rush player, as Pro Football Focus notes. Along with his 5.5 sacks, Vea had 30 quarterback hurries in all during the previous season, which helped him earn a 72.3 pass-rush grade from PFF.

An even more disruptive Vea would go a long way toward making the Buccaneers defence even more formidable in 2024, especially considering that the NFC South is home to talented running backs like Alvin Kamara of New Orleans and Bijan Robinson of Atlanta.
