Davante Adams, a wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, seemed to regret his choice to relocate to Sin City after just two seasons there.
Adams was just on the podcast “The Rush With Maxx Crosby.” The first question Crosby posed to Adams concerned the rise of Jordan Love, the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and Adams’ 2020–2021 colleague.
Remarkably, Adams talked more about Love and his choice to leave Green Bay around the 1:20 point than he did about Love.
“I resemble the embodiment of the saying, ‘you make a decision and you live with it.'” I have no regrets in life. It doesn’t matter if my career takes a nosedive after coming to Las Vegas. Adams stated, “You have to make choices and go with them.
“Although you look back on it and think, ‘Damn, [Jordan Love] kind of balling right now,’ I don’t regret what I did.”
While the two were living together in Green Bay, Adams said that he had recognized Love’s potential. But Adams had to decide based on what, at the time, seemed to be in his best interests.
In 2022, Adams was dealt by the Packers to the Raiders. However, it was commonly known that Adams requested to join Derek Carr, the Raiders’ starting quarterback at the time, after leaving his last college club.
After the 2021 season, Adams was placed on the franchise tag by the Packers; but, an extension agreement could not be reached by the parties. Adams allegedly declined a larger contract from the Packers than the one he ultimately signed with the Raiders.
Adams’ two years in Las Vegas have been turbulent thus far. Recently, the three-time All-Pro gave the Raiders no doubts about his future.
