HUGE BLOW: Miami Hurricane Has Officially Confirmed The Departure of 4-Star QB To Big-12 Program

According to On3, former Hurricane quarterback Jaccuri Brown will remain in Florida after committing to UCF.

Brown played the previous two seasons at Miami, appearing in nine games with three starts under head coach Mario Cristobal. Brown’s only start last season came against Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl. He accumulated 181 throwing yards, 57 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns.

Jacurri Brown, Miami, Quarterback
Over two seasons, Brown had 411 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, 278 running yards, and two rushing touchdowns.
Brown signed with Miami as a four-star prospect from Valdosta, Georgia. According to the On3 industry rankings, he was Georgia’s No. 18 quarterback and 28th player. He also had offers from Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and Auburn.
Following Brown’s commitment, UCF now has an abundance of quarterback skill. The Knights lost last year’s starter, John Rhys Plumlee, in the NFL draft. Plumlee signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent.

KJ Jefferson, UCF, Quarterback
Brown will compete with former Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson for the starting position in Gus Malzahn’s offence. Jefferson provides a wealth of experience, having accumulated 7,911 passing yards, 1,876 running yards, and 88 total touchdowns during his college career.

The former Miami quarterback will have his work cut out for him if he wants to be the starter next season.
