Carson Beck, the Georgia Bulldogs quarterback, is aiming to be the first quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL Draft class. With the 2024 draft aside, it’s never too early to start thinking about next season. Georgia will compete for a national championship in college football despite missing the playoffs last season.
The Bulldogs went back-to-back in 2021 and 2022. It is difficult to three-peat, and they failed to achieve it in 2023. Carson Beck completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions last season for Georgia.
He could be one of the Heisman Trophy favourites for the next college football season. Matthew Stafford, a former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback, was selected first overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
Sheuder Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes and Quinn Ewers of the Texas Longhorns are two more quarterbacks who could be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. It will also be fascinating to observe which NFL clubs aren’t good next season.
The New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders are Two Teams That Could Very Well Land Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck During the 2025 NFL Draft
It appears that the Giants and Raiders will need to choose a quarterback after the 2024 season. New York attempted to move on from Daniel Jones, but could not. They can opt out of his contract after this season. Jones does not look to be the long-term option, and neither do Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito.
The Raiders are attempting to improve their roster for this season while also identifying their potential signal caller in 2025. Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell are both available in Las Vegas, but neither appears to be a long-term solution.
Unless something changes during the 2024 NFL regular season, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck will be selected by the New York Giants or the Las Vegas Raiders in many mock drafts. It is early to anticipate what will happen.
NFLdraftbuzz.com lists the following scouting reports on Beck’s strengths:
“Highly tuned pocket mechanics: links the eyes, shoulders, and feet for seamless and consistent pass delivery in a variety of game scenarios. Produces outstanding torque, giving the ball zip and ensuring it arrives at velocity even on deeper throws. Has a natural pocket presence; senses pressure and adjusts on the fly to create clean throwing lanes.”
Some of his flaws include:
“Very inexperienced, with only one year of starts under his belt. Inconsistencies in release mechanics; a proclivity for unneeded additional pump fakes – potentially slowing release in high-pressure conditions.”
The good news is that Beck will make another season of starts for the Georgia Bulldogs, making him a two-year starter. Carson Beck has a possibility to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, depending on how Georgia’s collegiate football season plays out.
