Andrus Peat, the versatile player, had a successful contract end in 2023. After starting the season as a reserve, the offensive lineman was promoted to starter following Trevor Penning’s dismal start. The offensive lineman appeared in 16 games, making 12 starts, and finished the season with a 60.2 PFF grade. He played 715 snaps at left tackle and 89 at left guard.

NFL Rumors: Saints Dennis Allen open to re-sign free agent Andrus Peat
Andrus Peat joins the NFL as a first-round pick in the 2015 draft. The New Orleans Saints selected the Stanford product, who had previously played tackle in college. Peat began the season as a backup but rapidly won a starting spot as a rookie before suffering a leg injury. Throughout his rookie season, he appeared in 12 games and started eight of them.

Peat capitalized on the success of his first season to earn a starting place in 2016. He never gave up this position, starting all 15 games in which he participated. Interestingly, while he primarily played guard, he briefly filled in at tackle while Terron Armstead was out injured.

The offensive lineman made his postseason debut in 2017. Peat started 14 games and helped the team reach the playoffs before suffering a broken fibula in the Wild Card game, which ended his season. Fortunately, he returned to full health in 2018, kicking off a three-year streak of Pro Bowl appearances. During this span, the offensive lineman appeared in 36 of 48 regular season games, but the squad was never able to reach the Super Bowl during Drew Brees’ last years.
