DRASTIC DEAL: New Orlean Saint GM Mickey Loomis Brutal and Drastic Decision on Marshon Lattimore Trade Discussion

Over the course of the past year, Marshon Lattimore and the New Orleans Saints have developed a certain aura. Unfortunately, this is not the vibe that some young fans enjoy discussing in sports.

Instead, there has been some discussion about a potential swap between the two parties. Lattimore’s unfortunate injury luck last season did not assist such notions.

That being said, Saints general manager Mickey Loomis appears to have halted a Lattimore deal recently.
The long-time front-office head of the Saints is not aggressively seeking to trade the team’s star cornerback.
“Marshon has been a great player for us for quite some time. He is one of our team leaders. As I already stated, we can take advantage of any available corners. We have a good group, a very good group, and they will help each other and our squad win…

When a guy is a really good player for your team, they aren’t necessarily on the market, but there are instances when you get a call and someone makes a proposition that may make sense for you. That applies to any member on your squad. If you receive an irresistible offer, you must consider it. So, that is what I would say. I’m not actively looking to trade Marshon. Marshon is such an excellent player. He’s an exceptional cornerback. He’s had some injuries in the last few seasons that have kept him off the field, and we need to get over it. It is not his fault. It’s just the conditions. That’s just where we are. — Loomis via Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio

Saints GM Mickey Loomis debunks Marshon Lattimore trade rumors

The inclusion of Kool-aid McKinstry in the draft raised eyebrows. He is an NFL-ready defensive back, and they selected him in the second round.

They don’t see his acquisition as a reason to deduct from Lattimore. That is excellent news for New Orleans and its fans this season.
