Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers added a face to the offensive line room Monday afternoon, when former Akron offensive lineman Ronan Chambers revealed his commitment to the Tigers via social media.
Chambers had originally committed to Tulane, but changed his mind after visiting Auburn this past weekend.
Chambers, a product of Olmsted Township, Ohio, is coming off his fourth season at Akron, where he played in 37 games and made 18 starts, including all 12 last fall when he split time at left and right tackle.
Chambers, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 290 pounds, will arrive at The Plains with one season of eligibility remaining.
Auburn now has two offensive lineman transfers this offseason, with Chambers joining former Mississippi State transfer Percy Lewis.
Chambers, Lewis, Jeremiah Wright, Izavion Miller, Jaden Muskrat, Tate Johnson, Dillon Wade, Connor Lew, EJ Harris, Seth Wilfred, Tyler Johnson, Dylan Senda, Bradyn Joiner, Clay Wedin, DeAndre Carter, and Favour Edwin are currently the Tigers’ offensive linemen.
Meanwhile, Chambers’ pledge is the fifth the Tigers have received during the spring transfer window.
