DONE DEAL: Raiders Sign Former Saints Pro Bowl OL And Former Chargers Wide Receiver In A Blockbuster Deal

One of the Las Vegas Raiders’ offseason focuses has clearly been to upgrade their offensive line. The organization has already signed former Chicago Bears lineman Cody Whitehair and selected Jackson Powers-Johnson in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Antonio Pierce, the head coach, is all about aggressiveness and being on the attack, which cannot happen until the players are powerful in the trenches. And the Raiders aren’t done yet; they’ve made another move to bolster their offensive line.

According to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network, the Raiders have signed former New Orleans Saints tackle Andrus Peat, adding depth and variety to the line. Peat was a three-time Pro Bowler for the Saints from 2018 to 2020. He started 102 games in New Orleans, mostly at left guard. However, after losing his starting spot last season, Peat stepped in at left tackle and started 11 games for the Saints, holding his own and demonstrating his talent.

The left side of the Raiders’ line is essentially set in stone, with Kolton Miller at left tackle, Dylan Parham at left guard, and Andre James back at centre. The race for right guard and tackle is still open, and Peat might play a part.

Whitehair and Powers-Johnson are anticipated to compete for the right guard position, while third-round pick Delmar Glaze could face off against the returning Thayer Munford Jr. at right tackle. Peat might potentially participate in any competition, giving seasoned leadership and mentorship to the younger players.

The Raiders entered this summer with a goal, and their moves thus far demonstrate how they intend to play this season.

Raiders sign Jalen Guyton, a former Chargers wide receiver.

The Raiders have not only made additions in the trenches, but they have also expanded their receiving core. The team has already welcomed former Dallas Cowboys wideout Michael Gallup, but they have also signed former Los Angeles Chargers receiver Jalen Guyton.

Guyton is more of a deep danger who can stretch defences. He is a decent depth component for the squad, which also boasts Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, as well as second-year receiver Tre Tucker, who is anticipated to play a larger part.
