Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorn coaching staff continue to expand their summer official visitor list. As June approaches, we’re seeing an increasing number of names make plans to visit Austin and have the red carpet rolled out for them, and another SEC commit put his name to the list Wednesday.
Devin Williams, a four-star cornerback from Buford, Georgia, has committed to Auburn since February and is slated to visit on the weekend of June 14th. Williams stated yesterday via Twitter that he has scheduled an official visit to Texas for the following weekend, commencing on the 21st.
As of present, Williams only has two official visits scheduled for June. With the trip to Auburn coming shortly before his travel to Texas, it will be fascinating to watch whether Hugh Freeze and his team take steps to shut down his recruitment and prevent him from seeing another location.
The Longhorns have already had some turnover at the position this offseason, and more departures are expected after 2024, so they are staying busy to restock the talent pool at corner.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Williams is the 22nd ranked cornerback prospect in the country for the 2025 cycle, as well as the 186th ranked player overall.
