Kalen DeBoer gave reporters an update on injured Alabama wide receiver Jalen Hale during the Region Tradition Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday.
Hale suffered a’significant’ knee injury during spring practice for the Crimson Tide. The timing for Hale’s recovery is currently unknown, with DeBoer calling his prospects of returning next season as ‘difficult.’
“This season will certainly be a tough one, but I do not want to also say that he would be out the entire year,” DeBoer stated. “It depends on how lengthy the season is. He has done an outstanding job, and the process and recovery for him has accelerated since the injury occurred in the spring.”
Despite the uncertainty, the Alabama wide receiver has maintained a positive attitude. He updated his situation on Monday, posting to X that he was planning a ‘epic’ return to the field.
