RAMS UPDATE: Rams Head Coach Sean McVay Issues a Shocking Matthew Stafford Future Update That Got Fans Crying

After making the playoffs last year, the Los Angeles Rams will attempt to carry that momentum into the 2024 NFL season.

Following a flurry of offseason moves, head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead said that they intend to thoroughly transition to their new tough and physical-minded persona on the field. In addition to investing in their offensive line, they addressed defensive line concerns in the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, Matthew Stafford may benefit the most from the moves, as he will have stronger front-line protection. Stafford started off in 2023 but dramatically improved in the second half of the season, leading the Rams to the Wild Card.

Stafford appears to have a few solid years left in him, and sources suggest that he wants to renegotiate his deal to include more guaranteed money.

McVay was asked about the story, and it appears that he and Stafford agree that the team’s quarterback should stay as long as he is willing to play, according to Mad Dog Sports Radio:

“As long as he wants to play,” McVay explained. “I think he played some of his best basketball down the stretch for us. He was instrumental in bringing us to a 7-1 victory. Obviously, Carson [Wentz] came in and played well against the Niners, even though we had already clinched our playoff berth. But I felt he was outstanding in Detroit. I thought he was terrific in the second half of the season after returning from a thumb injury that caused him to miss the Green Bay game and half of the Dallas game. But he was disciplined, he saw the field, and he was able to get all of his eligible players involved. He had such a strong command and ownership over what we were doing that he was able to develop off schedule. And it’s a true reflection of his hard work.

“I believe that modelling the way is the most effective way to display true leadership. He has been doing that with us this week. He did that with his team at the start, during Phase 1 of the offseason program. And, you know, we’re taking it year by year, but as long as he wants to play, we’re fortunate to have him as our quarterback, and you know how lucky I am to have him doing so.”

Who is the Sean McVay stunt double lurking on the Rams' sideline?
McVay and Stafford’s combination has already resulted in one Super Bowl win, so it stands to reason that the two will work together until the wheels come off.

Aaron Donald left a large gap on the defensive front, but Les Snead has stated that he is willing to leave the door open for a potential reunion if the future Hall of Famer ever wants to return.
