The Denver Broncos finished last season slightly under.500 and have had an extremely active start to the 2024 season. They lead by moving on from important experienced starters such as quarterback Russell Wilson and safety Justin Simmons, while being fiscally prudent during free agency. Then they added their next franchise quarterback, first-round pick Bo Nix.
So I believed this week’s SB Nation responds survey would be a nice way to gauge where supporters stand on the franchise’s direction after such an interesting summer. 82% of you believe the Broncos are headed in the right way this season.
A quick check of where that confidence was after the end of the season revealed that it was at 61%, representing a 21% increase in confidence following the free agency period and 2024 NFL Draft. While that is amazing, May and June are often the months when fans have the most hope. In many previous years, we had seen this period in the mid-90s. So it appears that fans are growing scared of the long road back to significance. Will this be the year they turn things around?
