This tweet captures how Broncos Country fell in love in May. I, like the rest of Broncos Country, want every guy the Broncos draft to be a generational talent, particularly at quarterback.
We’ve seen this type of stuff before. We want the new quarterback to be successful, so we place all of our hopes and expectations on reports from rookie minicamp. Please, Broncos, give us something to hang our hats on this season!
While managing fan expectations is vital, withholding judgment is beneficial to the quarterback himself. Allow the young gun to learn the offence without the constant pressure to come out of the box and throw like Joe Montana. Being the Broncos quarterback comes with its own set of pressures, and the trial by fire is about to begin. Allow the young man some room before making pronouncements of valour.
We all know this year will be difficult as we finally begin to recover from the Russell Wilson tragedy. Everyone should simply take a moment to give the new guy a chance to learn without putting Super Bowl expectations on him after a great rookie minicamp. The Broncos have their guy in Nix; let’s give him room to grow.
