JUST IN: Canes World Reacts to Key Miami Hurricane Top Primary Targets Who Just Earn Five-Star Status In Latest Top247 Update

On Wednesday afternoon, the 247Sports Rankings Council updated the Class of 2025 rankings, increasing the number of five-star players to 32 for the first time this cycle.

The Hurricanes are linked with several prospects who were mentioned and moved in the update.

Iose Epenesa, a new five-star prospect from Edwardsville (Ill.), has moved up five spots to No. 15 nationally. He’ll end his summer recruiting visits with the Hurricanes in South Florida, where he’ll make his fourth visit to the program.
Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin wide out Jaime Ffrench now has five stars next to his name, moving him up five spots to No. 25 overall and No. 4 wideout nationally. He is slated to make an official visit to the Hurricanes on June 7.

Kingsland (GA) Camden County tight end Elyiss Williams (No. 21 overall) is also a new five-star prospect. The Hurricanes have two tight ends committed, but they are still keeping an eye on the Georgia commit.

Savannah (GA) The Hurricanes are also interested in Christian Prep five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin (No. 8), Tampa Zephyrhills five-star cornerback DJ Pickett (No. 9), and Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star linebacker Zayden Walker (No. 10).

Two of the more notable increases are Orlando (Fla.) Jones wide receiver Vernell Brown III, who leaped 131 spots from No. 169 nationally to No. 38 overall, and Lancaster (Calif.) Quartz Hill cornerback Adonyss Currie (No. 190 to No. 42). Both are planning to visit Miami this summer.

Some of the “second round” candidates are Enterprise (Ala.) linebacker Eric Winters (No. 53 overall), Las Vegas Bishop Gorman interior offensive lineman Seuseu Alofaituli (No. 55 overall), and Tampa Bay (Fla.) Tech wide receiver Dallas Wilson (No. 64).

Vero Beach (Fla.) linebacker TJ Alford (No. 72 overall), Enterprise (Ala.) EDGE Zion Grady (No. 75), Miami Booker T. Washington cornerback Ben Hanks (No. 81), Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Gavin Nix (No. 88), and Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin safety Hylton Stubbs (No. 99) all received “third round” grades.

Javeon Campbell, a 6-foot-5, 265-pounder from Frankfort (KY) Western Hills EDGE, joins the Top247 and has an official visit scheduled with Miami this summer. He’s ranked “fourth round” alongside Buford (Ga.) linebacker Jadon Perlotte (No. 114), New Iberia (La.) Westgate cornerback Jaboree Antoine (No. 136), and Miami commit Leo (Ind.) tight end Brock Schott (No. 143).

Girard Pringle Jr., a Miami recruit and Seffner (Fla.) Armwood running back, is ranked No. 166 in the nation, up from No. 219. Ousmane Kromah (No. 160), a sought tailback from Leesburg (Ga.), is ranked slightly ahead of him in the “fifth round” bracket. Ladarian Clardy, who was recently offered safety out of Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia, is ranked No. 178.

Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview interior offensive lineman Cortez Smith is ranked 182 overall, followed by Miami (Fla.) Central safety Amari Wallace at No. 187, Homestead (Fla.) wide receiver Cortez Mills (No. 196), Port Charlotte (Fla.) defensive lineman Myron Charles (No. 210), and Miami Columbus safety Bryce Fitzgerald (No. 213) in the “sixth round” range.

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian EDGE Hayden Lowe, a Miami target, rounds out the top 247 at No. 231 overall.
