“In the blink of an eye, everything can be taken away,” Price wrote in the post. “On April 24th, I underwent emergency pulmonary embolism surgery to remove a saddle clot that had entered both of my lungs. As a healthy 29-year-old, an unprovoked pulmonary embolism with no other medical explanation is alarming.

“I am very grateful to be alive now. Unfortunately, I will be retiring from the NFL since the chance of an internal bleed while taking blood thinners is extremely high.”

Billy Price expressed gratitude for his career.
Price congratulated his former teammates and wife for his remarkable career.

“I am truly thankful for the opportunity to have played in some of the greatest atmospheres around the world,” remarked the musician. “I am grateful to have trained and played with individuals who will continue to make Pro Bowls, All-Pro Teams, and Hall of Fame selections.

“To my wife, this profession would not have been possible without your ongoing love and support. The sacrifices you’ve made over the course of my profession are not forgotten. I can’t wait to embark on the next chapter of our lives together as our family grows.”
