Latest Broncos News: Broncos Top Experienced and Fans Favourite Player Faces Allegations of Sexual Assualt.

Brandon McManus, who kicked for the Denver Broncos for nine seasons before being released last May, is being sued by two women who accuse him of sexual assault.

The complaint was first reported by ESPN’s Michael DiRocco on Monday.

The two plaintiffs are seeking more than $1 million.

McManus signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year after being released by the Broncos. The lawsuit alleges that the incident occurred aboard the Jaguars’ team charter aircraft to London last September.

According to Schefter,

The two women, named as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II in a lawsuit filed Friday night in Duval County Circuit Civil Court, accuse McManus of rubbing and grinding against them. They also accuse the Jaguars of neglecting to oversee McManus and failing to provide a safe working environment for team personnel. …

… According to the lawsuit, the two ladies worked on their first Jaguars charter trip in September, and they have suffered tremendous mental agony, worry, psychological and emotional hardship, embarrassment, and humiliation. They were removed from the core crew that staffs Jaguars charter flights, which they had worked hard to obtain, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims that the Jaguars committed gross negligence by failing to properly hire McManus, train him about inappropriate and sexual contact with flight staff, supervise him on the flight, adopt policies and procedures to protect flight staff from sexual misconduct by employees, and enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behaviour.

The Jaguars declined to re-sign Brandon McManus in March. He then joined with the Washington Commanders early in the unrestricted free agency signing period.

The Commanders have issued a statement regarding the lawsuit and charges.

“Earlier today, we were made aware of the civil lawsuit filed on May 24 against Brandon McManus,” according to the Commander’s statement. “We take such complaints very seriously and are investigating the case. We have communicated with the League Office and Brandon’s representatives and will make no further comments at this time.

McManus became one of the most accomplished kickers in Broncos history during a nine-season stint that began with a trade at the 2014 roster deadline. After battling with accuracy in his rookie season, he solidified his position in 2015 and eventually went undefeated during the Broncos’ march to Super Bowl 50, hitting all of his placekicks in postseason victories over Pittsburgh, New England, and Carolina.

McManus was the last player on the Broncos’ roster from Super Bowl 50 when he was released in May. Jacksonville immediately added him to their squad, but he was released after just one season.
