BREAKING NEWS: Miami Football Highly Rated Four-Star Decommits From Miami.

Waden Charles was a key member of Miami’s 2025 class. From down the street at Palm Beach Central High School, the in-state athlete was one of Mario Cristobal’s crowning achievements.

Unfortunately for the Hurricanes, his September 2023 committment did not endure the full year.

Charles, ranked No. 12 in the 2024 class by 247Sports and No. 52 wideout by On3, revealed his decision to leave Miami on Thursday.
While the more than 30 institutions who have offered Charles still have a shot, it appears like the Florida product will remain in the state. He recently informed On3 that Florida and Florida State were still wooing him.

He also spoke highly of UCF, where he will make a formal visit on June 14. For the record, he will also formally visit Arkansas on June 7.

“I like that school a lot, cause they have a great coaching staff, a lot of young players that come in and make an instant impact,” Charles commented about UCF. “The stuff that they’ve done in the receiving room last year, the receivers they have in the draft, so I feel like if I ever go there I’ll be able to do the same thing, even better.”

The Knights also have a recruiting advantage in four-star safety prospect Tony Williams, who played with Charles at Palm Beach Central.

“Tony talks to me every day about coming to UCF. He’s only trying to show me the same vision he sees, and I’m starting to see it too. Tony, he’s definitely pushing me hard to come play at UCF,” Charles explained.

Wherever he ends up, Charles expects to make an effect sooner rather than later.

As a junior, he caught 30 receptions for 478 yards and seven touchdowns and also played in the defensive secondary.
