Audric Estime, the Broncos’ fifth-round pick, is anticipated to be out until training camp, head coach Sean Payton stated Thursday.
The rookie running back, who left practice a week ago with a knee ailment, underwent a “small scope procedure” to ensure there was no significant damage, according to Payton. Despite the fact that his findings were clean, Estime will spend time recovering from the injury and the operation before returning to training camp.
“He’ll be available at the start of training camp,” Payton stated following the Broncos’ second week of OTAs. “So we won’t see him for the rest of these OTAs, but on the conservative side, he’ll be great. It was all positive news. And he’ll stay and rehab, but he’ll be ready to go when training camp starts.”
Payton also revealed to the media that cornerback Riley Moss was out on Thursday after straining his back.
“He had a muscle spasm in his back,” Payton explained. “It was still sore today.” He’ll probably be back out there on Monday. This was the first day he missed.”
