Following the decommitment of four-star 2025 prospect Waden Charles on Thursday, the Miami football program will focus on the six wide receivers slated for official visits in June. Charles’ decommitment was not anticipated.
According to Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U, Arkansas and Central Florida have emerged as the programs to obtain a commitment from Charles. According to Urrutia, Charles will visit Arkansas over the weekend of June 7, and Central Florida will host the Palm Beach Central athlete beginning June 14.
This weekend, Miami will receive an official visit from three-star 2025 WR Tyler Williams, marking the start of the transition from Charles. The weekend of June 7 will be huge for Miami, as it will host WRs. Three-star wide receivers Joshua Moore and Daylyn Upshaw, four-star Oregon WR commit Dallas Wilson, and five-star Jaime Ffrench will all visit Miami over the weekend of June 7.
Four-star athlete Vernell Brown, a projected WR in college who has committed to Ohio State, will visit Miami on June 11. Miami will welcome four-star 2025 Homestead WR Cortez Mills over the weekend of June 21. According to 247Sports and On3, Miami has the most pledges from Mills, followed by Williams.
Miami is ahead, with a 42 percent likelihood of Mills committing, according to On3. Florida is ranked third, with a 17 percent chance of receiving a commitment from Mills. Miami is given a 29 percent chance of securing Williams’ pledge. Georgia ranks second for Williams, with 29 percent.
Expect Miami to prioritize wide receiver in the 2023 class. In 2024, Jacolby George and Xavier Restrepo will enter their final seasons with Miami. Miami signed Ny Carr, Chance Robinson, and Joshisa Trader for the 2024 class. Trader is expected to play in the Miami rotation in 2024.
