Carr has been great in OTAs under his new play-caller, and we’ll see if he can maintain that level of performance throughout training camp and beyond. From the outside looking in, the Saints’ offence appears to be improving. Furthermore, Kubiak is pushing the Saints quarterback to a level he is not used to.

Kubiak is pushing Carr extremely hard to improve.
Carr’s comments here are intriguing because they are so new to him. It’s as if he’s not used to being held to a high level and expected to perform perfectly at times.

Is that a veiled nod to former offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr.’s disservice? You can make that decision for yourself.

Carr claims that Kubiak holds the veteran quarterback to a very high standard. He appreciates this since it boosts his confidence. He’s attempting to provide as near to perfect play as possible on a play-by-play basis.

Regardless, it’s evident that Kubiak and his coaches operate very differently from the previous staff. Many campers mention that practices run more smoothly and with a more positive attitude. Players are always engaged in some form of physical or mental exercise in order to continue their development.

Overall, it appears that Kubiak and his staff are expecting more from the Saints players, and they are meeting those expectations thus far.
