Auburn football is trending up for former Ohio State commit Blake Woodby, a four-star cornerback.
In October 2023, 4-star cornerback Blake Woodby committed to Ohio State. According to the timeline on his 247 Sports profile, Woodby rescinded his commitment to the Buckeyes on May 16, 2024, and the Auburn football department issued an offer the same day.
Throughout his pledge to Ohio State, Woodby kept his recruitment open and communicated with colleges such as Auburn, Michigan, Florida, and others. Woodby arranged his formal visit to the Plains immediately after his decommitment and has since become a top target for the Auburn Tigers. The cornerback is scheduled to make his official visit to Auburn this weekend.
Ahead of the visit, On3 Sports’ Vice President of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong made an official prediction that Wooodby will become a Tiger.
“I’ve talked to sources around Auburn today, and there is a lot of optimism going into the visit this weekend,” Wiltfong told On3 Sports. In addition to Wiltfong’s forecast, two national recruiting analysts for 247 Sports posted Crystal Ball predictions for Woodby to join Auburn this morning.
Woodby, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, is listed as the #2 talent from his state and the #8 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class. Overall, he is ranked #74 among the Top 100 recruits.
According to Auburn Wire, this weekend will be a major recruiting weekend for head coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football program, as the Tigers will host many recruits on official visits. |
Five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, four-star offensive lineman Broderick Shull, four-star linebacker Elijah Menendez (Miami commit), four-star defensive lineman Kalen Edwards, and four-star tight end Emaree Winston (Texas commit) are all expected to join Woodby on the Plains.
