Samantha Busch, the wife of NASCAR star Kyle Busch, is not buying Ross Chastain’s justification for last Sunday’s incident at Sonoma Raceway.
Chastain alleges he collided with Busch’s truck on the last lap because his tired became “locked up” as he was approached Turn 4A.
“I’m not sure what happened with the 8, either, I’ll be honest,” Chastain told NASCAR.com. “I’m fairly unclear about much of this, but he checked down into 4A. I popped out to avoid hitting him, then locked in to his right. So absolutely not trying to run into him.”
Chastain was able to maintain her momentum and finish in the top five. Busch ended in 12th place.
Samantha Busch took to social media on Sunday night to criticize Chastain. She stated, “‘Locked up my tires’ aka over drove the corner.”
For the most part, NASCAR fans enjoyed this message from Samantha.
“Feisty NASCAR wives are the best,” one fan said.
“First tweet in a month and it’s straight facts,” a second fan replied.
Another admirer remarked, “Kyle ran so good there. A shame chastain couldn’t pass him clean.”
Chastain has not responded to this tweet from Busch’s wife. It’ll probably be wise for him to keep it that way.
The Cup Series will continue this Sunday at Iowa Speedway.
