DEAL AGREED: Broncos Blockbuster Trade Proposal Lands NFL All-Pro WR to Broncos

The NFL is experiencing an epidemic of unhappy wide receivers, and the Denver Broncos are no exception. Their star wideout, Courtland Sutton, missed OTAs due to a contract disagreement before returning to minicamp.

Another team with even worse wide receiver concerns is the Dallas Cowboys, who have yet to give two-time NFL All-Pro CeeDee Lamb a contract extension that may challenge Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson’s record-breaking four-year, $140 million contract.

In a mind-blowing trade proposal, Predominantly Orange’s Lou Scataglia proposes moving Lamb to the Broncos for Sutton, a 2025 first-round pick, and a 2026 second-round pick.

Proposed CeeDee Lamb trade with Green Bay crazy enough to work

Scataglia wrote, “Let’s get super freaky right away.” “You may argue that the Denver Broncos’ offence currently lacks a legitimate WR1. You can’t get much better than CeeDee Lamb, who appears to be dissatisfied with the Dallas Cowboys for failing to extend his deal this offseason.

“Although the price is high, it represents the current peak of the WR market.” The Denver Broncos would most likely have to part with important draft capital to make this move happen, possibly several selection picks and a player, as I outlined above. Would Courtland Sutton, a first-round and a second-round choice suffice?”

For any NFL fan, the prospect of adding Lamb to their squad falls directly into the “wildest dreams” category.

Lamb has been probably the NFL’s finest wide receiver since the Cowboys selected him with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft from Oklahoma.

Lamb’s receiving yardage has increased in each of his four seasons, and he enters 2024 after three consecutive seasons of more than 1,000 receiving yards — he had 935 receiving yards as a rookie in 2020.

Lamb’s 2023 season was historic, as he led the NFL with 135 receptions, 1,749 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. He has also been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons.

Lamb signed a four-year, $14.01 million rookie contract in 2020, and after the Cowboys exercised his fifth-year option in 2023, he is set to earn over $17.9 million in 2024.

Sutton is the last Denver WR to pass 1,000 receiving yards.

Broncos' Courtland Sutton shows up for minicamp, still seeks new contract
According to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, Jefferson’s contract might have an impact on the NFL wide receiver market, and the Broncos will eventually give Sutton’s demand with a two-year, $35 million contract extension with $25 million in guarantees.

That is, assuming he is not traded. Sutton remains the last Denver player to pass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, which he accomplished in 2019 on his route to earning his only Pro Bowl selection.

“Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton, whose lone 1,000-yard campaign came back in 2019, is a tier or two below every other player on this list,” Knox stated. “However, he must be mentioned because he has skipped offseason exercises in an attempt to secure a new deal. The good news for Denver, which is trying to develop rookie quarterback Bo Nix, is that its top receiver isn’t looking for No. 1 receiver money.
